Lego

Founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen, the Danish-based Lego Group manufactures Lego-branded interlocking ABS plastic and rubber construction toys. The company's name derives from "leg godt" ("play well"). Its basic brick design, patented in 1958, has remained consistent. Beyond toys, Lego operates Legoland amusement parks and retail stores , introduced DUPLO in 1969 and Minifigures in 1978 , and launched licensed themes like Star Wars in 1999.
